WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the item slot and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a number of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.
Many locations have upgraders for their items which include the main island and some outposts. item upgrading offer both an upgrade discount and a chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at start, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and some new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The discount applies to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is cut also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.

item upgrading have a number of options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones that are a general upgrade currency that is available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and are consumed during upgrades on specific levels of items. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-tier gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests can be exchanged with an upgrader like Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one use, so it's important to use them properly. For instance it's best to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment you have and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are full of high-quality gear.
